Dirty Rose started a few years ago and are a centrally based classic metal band from Scotland.
I got involved with these guys when they unfortunately lost their drummer and were looking for someone to temp for a few shows.
When I joined, they had already been booked to play Hammerfest 3 which is a heavy metal festival in Prestatyn, Wales. I joined about 6 weeks before the date of the show on the festival, so had to get my head screwed on and really work to get things sounding great for this big opportunity gig.
I learned a full 45 min set within a couple of weeks and also put my own spin on the songs, giving them a bit of a fresh taste. We played the set at Hammerfest and went down a storm.
I had then joined as a full member and we continued to write new material for release on CD and Digital download available from the website and through iTunes, along with some shows alongside Blaze Bayley (ex Iron Maiden/Wolfsbane and very successful solo artist) later on in the year. Also another chance to play at Hammerfest as well as its sister festival Hard Rock Hell is in the calendar.
Dirty Rose were featured on the album "No More Tears: A Millenium Tribute To Ozzy Osbourne" which was released in Spring 2012
The tribute featured current/former members of Black Sabbath,
Motley Crue, KISS, Slaughter, Night Ranger, Ozzy Osbourne, Badlands,
Alice Cooper, The Cult, LA Guns, Megadeth, Warrant, Dokken, Steve Vai, Spinal Tap, David Lee Roth band, Santana, Lillian Axe, and others to be confirmed.
We had been given the rights to cover the Black Sabbath song "Supernaut" from the album "Black Sabbath Vol 4".
